Rate change log
Every off-peak rate move we record, newest first. We began dating snapshots on 3 August 2026; earlier entries are sourced changes documented at launch.
- 3 Aug 2026 Started recording dated snapshots of every tracked EV tariff's off-peak unit rate. From here, rate moves are logged automatically as we re-verify each supplier.
- 1 May 2026 Octopus moved new joiners from the classic variable Intelligent Octopus Go onto a 12-month fixed version of the product; the off-peak rate held at about 8p per kWh. Source
- 1 Apr 2026 OVO roughly doubled the Charge Anytime add-on rate, from around 7p to 14p per kWh. Source
How this index is built
Each rate is checked against the supplier's own published page or API and dated. Off-peak rates are national; regional peak rates and standing charges feed the region-aware cost calculator. Where a supplier blocks automated checks we mark the rate estimated and tell you to confirm it. Full detail on our methodology and editorial policy.
